28th February is celebrated as the National Science Day to commemorate the Nobel Prize winning discovery known as the 'Raman Effect'.

With an objective to promote love for science among the next generation, the Raman Research Institute hosts an Open Day for science lovers every year.

RRI also hosts night sky observations on commemorative events as a way to involve the general public in making astronomical observations.

This allows an individual to broaden knowledge of the universe and inspire further appreciation for science.
